Teachers — Getting Started

This guide helps you set up your class, understand the platform, and get your students learning on Questerix.

What Can You Do on Questerix?

As a teacher, you can:

  • Create Groups (like a class or tutorial group)
  • Add students to groups
  • See each student's mastery and progress at a glance
  • View question-level reports — see exactly which questions students got right or wrong
  • The curriculum (topics, skills, questions) is managed by your school admin

Step 1: Log In

Problem: You received an invitation from your school admin.

Solution:

  1. Open the invitation email from Questerix.
  2. Click Set Up Account.
  3. Set your password.
  4. You're in — you'll land on the Teacher Dashboard.

Verification: You can see your school's name in the top navigation.

TIP

Your login email and password are set by you at first login. Your school admin cannot see your password.

Step 2: Create a Group

Groups in Questerix work like class lists. Each group has its own set of students.

Solution:

  1. In the left sidebar, click Groups.
  2. Click New Group.
  3. Enter a name (e.g., "Year 8 Set 2" or "Period 3 Maths").
  4. Click Create.

Verification: Your new group appears in the Groups list.

Step 3: Add Students to a Group

Problem: Your group exists but is empty.

Solution:

  1. Click on your group name.
  2. Click Add Students.
  3. Search by student name or scroll the list.
  4. Tick the students you want to add.
  5. Click Add to Group.

Verification: The students appear in the group's member list.

Students must already exist in the system

If a student doesn't appear in the search, ask your school admin to create their account first.

Step 4: View Student Progress

Problem: You want to see how your class is performing.

Solution:

  1. Click on a group.

  2. You'll see a table with every student, showing:

    • Their current streak (days practiced in a row)
    • Their overall mastery %
    • Their last active date
  3. Click on an individual student to see their full progress — mastery per topic, session history, and question-level data.

Verification: Each student row shows a coloured mastery bar.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I assign specific topics to students?

The curriculum is set at the school/app level by your admin. Students practice the questions assigned to their grade app. You can see which topics are available in the Domains view.

A student says they can't log in. What should I do?

Ask the student to use Forgot password on the login page. If that doesn't help, contact your school admin — they can reset the account.

Can students use Questerix on a tablet or phone?

Yes. The student app works on tablets and phones and supports offline mode. Progress syncs automatically when the device connects to the internet.

How are questions created?

Questions are created by your school admin (or Questerix staff) using the Admin Panel. Teachers don't create questions — they focus on monitoring progress and supporting students.
